Short torso longish arm for my height. Hence the 90mm stem. That's probly it. I don't mind being a bit wide in the peloton, then bitches know whats up.

Cranks are harder to notice, but I felt it was easier to keep smooth at a higher cadence when I went to 170s from my 175s. I couldn't exactly feel the difference in length, but the effects. Bars I can definitely feel. I have 44cm deda zero100s on my bk and 42cm on my bianchi. I had 44cm 3t ergonovas and loved the switch to the dedas. I just wish deda made a -17 stem so I could be matchy-match.

When it comes to handlebars, you can or should feel the difference. I'm riding 400mm Nitto RB-021s and they are alright, but when I go to a L.B.S. and I feel ergo or compact bars that are 420 or 440mm I feel a bit more comfortable.

It took a few months to get used to it on climbs. It's amazing how a 2.5mm difference can feel so different.

I can def feel the difference between ny 165 fixie crank and 170 road. I hate the 165. feels like little baby pedal strokes.

Nope. Sorry dude. You can probably put on a white industries 2spd fw, but you'd have to pair it up with a road double.

yo rabbi,
why do some people use spd pedals rather than road pedals (or vice versa) when riding fixed clipless? i've seen a handful of people use spds, however, i know you and brian use road pedals on your fixed gears. is it a personal preference kind of thing?

I use road pedals for racing because the power transfer is loads better, I kknow I won't accidentally clip out, and plus I have nice crabon shoes. Spds give me hotspots when I'm really pushing it because the contact point is minimal. I use spds mon-fri on my bk for commuting to work, though. I guess it really just ddepends on what kind of riding I'm doing. Casual: spd, training/racing: spd-sl.
