I'll be sure to look out for those pumps. Don't want to search for a gas station that has air.

Randos are built exactly for their name - randonneuring. You don't need them on yer sw8 fixxie whip on concrete and asphalt.

They take a good beating, and it was on the wheel when I bought it.

Dear, Rabbi What is the difference with carbon soles on shoes? This question doesn't make any sense.

I meant, what is the difference between a carbon sole and any other type of sole? I have been told that the carbon sole on a shoe is much stiffer.

Stiffer than plastic. Deflects less (hot spots on your feet where the pedals meet). Lighter than plastic. Lasts longer than plastic

Dear Crabbi: Are you racing CBR and are you doing the fast cash alleycat?

Idk about cbr, but I'm doing ontario this weekend. And hoping to do the alleycat on friday. It'd be swell to have that extra cash.

All that matters is winning. Not that you beat me. You have to win. Duh! But go anyway. It will be funny.

Rabbi.... Looking for some input on road bars (42-44) 26.0 clamp. Maybe ergo/anatomic (whatever you want to call them). Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks S

I suggest not riding ergo bars. But that's just me. They work for cav.

Dear, Rabbi
What would you have for a road bike set up? I was in my garage last night and stared at my old bike and I want to build it up and sell it and get something different. I went to JT's and he showed me this BMC, but I'm not sure I am going to be spending $2,000.00 + on something like that if I'm not racing or anything.

Sad thing is $1500-2000 is the going rate for a decent entry-level road bike. $1500ish will get you an aluminum bike with 105 from a lot of companies. Giant offers the TCR Composite Carbon with 105 for $1850. I wouldn't go below 105 components on the shimano side or you'll eventually be replacing drivetrain parts and equaling/surpassing what you would have spent on a 105-equipped bike.

You can definetly build something better for the price of a prebuilt box bike. Depending on where you go / who you know.
Your best bet for outta the box is a CAAD 10. Not to expensive and its more bike than you'll ever need.

Actually, the BMC that JT proposed had all 105 and is great in measurements for me. For around $2,188.00

I'm pretty sure the one at JT's is a 2012. And JT's is actually one of the cooler shops in town.

I still support a L.B.S. because I know running a business is pretty hard right now for most people with the internet and all.
JT's is a pretty good shop. The people there have helped me greatly, as well as B.C. Adventure Bicycle.

Also, I had thought about building my older bike up, but they had mentioned that if I change bars, then I'd have to swap out a few things; which in turn would add up to a whole new bike.
So I plan on restoring the bike and selling it as it was before.
