I was thinking we could start a thread where those of us with less bike knowledge (me) ask for advice from people with more bike knowledge. I have a creamroller with a tire clearance of up to 700 x 38mm. I am looking at these rims as I want something beefier for bike polo: www.jensonusa.com/store/product/RI308D03-Sun+Rhyno+Lite+Rims.aspxI have been trying to research this, but am semi confused. Will I have enough clearance for these rims?

i don't see a size for these rims. I would be looking at the 700c, I am having trouble finding what the inner width is, is that the size you need?

If you get the 700c rim, it will fit a 38 mm tire. Your surly creamroller fits up to a 38 mm tire.

this is the diameter of a regular road wheel. the 27.5 mm is the outside width of the rim. its a fatass rim, so 38 mm tires would fit it, as long as they are also 700c.

I've been looking at changing the crank set that came with the Mercier Kilo TT. I have found a few crank sets from Sugino and other sets, but it crossed my mind to buy piece by piece to build one. Also, I'm not too savvy on how many mm I should get.

I assume your other cranksets are old square taper road doubles? Look for a 107mm jis bb

If you're going to make that bike fixed, keep it chrome. don't make the same mistakes i did.

Actually, the old crank set on my first build is far different from modern equipment. It is a 2 piece set with a cotter pin and large bracket.
I am 5'8" 1/2' - 5'9".

175 mm arms

Really? The cranks that came with the bike should be 165 mm, but I'll search for some 175 mm crank sets.

170mm is standard. I wouldn't run a 175 length on my fixed gear
