They are still new and people have crazy ideas like that ^^. They dont stretch very easy at all and are designed for way more than what a human could do. Motorcycles are starting to use them.

motorcycles have been using them for a long time. austin and craig, it's because it's still new and they aren't really able to change out gear ratios with much ease. it also probably to do with the split/junction in the frame that would cause a loss of stiffness.

tits. is it just me, or do single straps on a fixed gear just not work. i remember the first couple months i started riding, i used single straps, and i ripped right through 3 pairs. but i might have been just riding too hard on them. but i've no problems with doubles at all though. or maybe the owner of this bike isn't riding that hard on em. in which case, he should prolly just get a cheaper commuting bike, hahahaha.

I was doing good for a long while with the stock nylon strap my bike came with, but it seems like many have gone clipless.

Clipless. Duh. At the point your at Ghabe, it would benefit you to ride clipless. I can't speak for anyone else.

tits. Sam, NOOOOOOO. All Mash histograms are cliche and plain ridiculous. Bad for commuting because huge track drops and ridiculous pursuit geometry. Guy obviously doesn't race on it because he rides with cages and i'm pretty sure Mash's aren't even track geo (someone confirm this for me, although I'm pretty sure it's true.) If Mash was really into "mashing" and "tearing it up" through cars, i think they would sell a frame that was centered more towards a sensible geo that fosters comfortable, but fast riding.

It works for what it does, may not be perfect and a lot of people actually buy the frames. It's definitely "street" attack geo
Now I laugh to myself when I think about Mash frames built up in Sf with bmx pedals and velcro straps..
That is definitely a basic build.

I think a lot of people buy it because of Mash's hype and the paint detail is incredibly pleasing. But shit, if some people are comfortable on it, then more power to them.

Hern's mash bike is pretty cool and fits your description, but that's mostly because hern is just a fucking balleur.

I would like to point out that hern races that bike on the track. Also they are not real pursuit geo, just an extended seat tube.

yeah, he races that shit on the streets too. i just like it when people hella destroy their expensive track frames on the road. reminds me of whenever people line up to buy the newest gaming systems, and the people in the front smash their newly purchased systems in front of the others in line. so good.
