Clinchers have come a long way and are quite a good option, but they still aren't on the level of tubulars.

that's a really stupid wheelset though. Clinchers on that type of deep carbon rim? That's such a waste. Wheels need to be tubular if they cost that much/are carbon/are for serious racing. One question, how can u tell the difference between clincher an tubular by just a picture?

Clinchers are as good as tubulars now. Plus, no $100 flat repairs. Have you tried a pair of vitt. open corsas? Tits. Exactly. Tubulars are ridiculously expensive.

and ridiculously awesome. no level of clincher can match the feel of a tubular. and fuck training on carbon wheels. my wheels are for race day only and they make my bike feel so good.
and actually, decent tubulars cost the same as decent tires: ~$60.
and you can tell because of the tire, logo placement, and how the tire is seated on the rim.

there is nothing wrong with shimano. i'm 100% certain the "ghost shift" bullshit is an industry smear campaign. Shimano has stiff cranks, which causes stiff weiner. Double tap sucks balls and the campy thumb shifting makes me feel like a child with shimano low end 2200.

craig's bike cost the same amount as yours, nick. only your stuff was 6 years old and his brand new. but, craig provided his own wheels and saddle, so it saved him $$$. so technically, you can't afford campy either.

Step 1. Attain 150 wheelset in order to save up for much more expensive, carbon tubular set. Step 2. Still be faster than Nick.
