um, probably not man. we usually go out for the entire weekend and race on road bikes the next day (omniums are saturday), and 2 bikes per person fills up a rack pretty fast. i don't think the next omnium is until august, but it's at adt and i don't recommend anyone starting there without s sort of prior track/racing experince. ohhh i see, i am going to look into the omniums. and how can i get track racing experience? is their a entry level velodromes? do i need a log that says that i have experience points how does it work? @ nlinealac, haha yeah i would like to go out to encino with a bunch vegas kids and destroy @ craig, i have been thinking about that for a while but i havent really met a lot of people in vegas who want to ride a fast pace ride. but ill see what i can do to get experience, you need to race. plain and simple. maybe try to make it out to a weekday or weekend beginers class. essentially, you need to get track certified. the track director will give a lesson on track procedures and etiqette and then they will put you on the track to watch you ride. if the director thinks you're sufficiant, you're good to ride. and on the topic of destroying... you're gonna get dropped, hard, in your first few races. track is a whole other level of tough. you're gonna need to train; and a lot. leisurely group rides are fun and all, but they really won't do you any good for a race. get a road bike and start putting in 200mi+ a week of training, not including commuting.

I just want that wheelset.
Post by craig on Jun 21, 2011 15:23:56 GMT -8
that's a really stupid wheelset though. Clinchers on that type of deep carbon rim? That's such a waste. Wheels need to be tubular if they cost that much/are carbon/are for serious racing.

I don't really care about all that. Tubular wheels are a hassle anyways.

Clinchers are as good as tubulars now. Plus, no $100 flat repairs. Have you tried a pair of vitt. open corsas? Tits.
