Update regarding details:
For a city our size it is a shame we have no bike messengers.
Accordingly, for the hell of it, this will be bike messenger themed.
The "office" will be outside the front of the EA.
There will be five law themed stops. You will be given a location and cross streets (if the location is not on a cross street you will be given the street, address, and streets it falls between). The check-in person will be on the sidewalk on that corner. Not up steps, not inside the building, not hidden behind a random wall. He/she will be on that corner or on the sidewalk in front of the building and will be visible.
There will be five to six stops, some close in, some further out.
$10 entry, winner gets half, co-op gets half. $20 minimum to first fixed, $20 minimum to the first overall. If the first overall is fixed s/he gets $40 minimum.
Like a normal bike messenger service, there may be packages you will have to carry. I am not giving more details than that. You need to come prepared for anything a normal bike messenger may be asked to carry.
How it will work. You will be at the EA at 7 p.m. to sign up and pay. You will receive an envelope with a location in it. There will be no running start, you can stay with your bike as long as you are right there. When I say go you open your envelope get the location and go to the first check point. At the checkpoints you will be given an envelope with your next "job". You will also be required to carry an "invoice" with you which you must get initialed or signed at each stop. If you lose this you lose the race. The first one to complete all of the checkpoints and return to the EA and gives ME the sheet signed by all checkpoints wins.

Would be, but riding with more people is fun to. Maybe Ghabe's will be just fixed, if not I will do a just fixed at some point in the future. But this way more cyclists come out, hopefully, and if not then a fixed will probably win it anyway in which case they get the monies.

No problem, I will need some volunteers, but want as many people as possible to race. If you are sick or pregnant or something and want to come out but don't want to race please let me know if you are willing to stand on a street corner alone at night.

Okay so we had a race meeting last night, some important updates, please read. First, exciting news, the prizes have been way upped. $50 to first overall male rider. $50 to first overall female rider. $20 to first fixed rider. So if you win first overall fixed you just made yourself $70 bucks. Remember, with some of our strongest racers out of town or unavailable this money is wide open. Second, and this is the important part, due to a lot of feedback the procedure has changed slightly. People wanted to get everything at once so they could decide their route themselves. Accordingly, here is the procedure update: You will receive six packages/parcels/envelopes whatever. Each of these items will have an address with cross streets on it. It is up to you to decide which order to deliver these in and whether you want to take them all at once or come back to the EA to retrieve them. Plan accordingly. After you deliver these six items you will return to the EA with your invoice stamped by all six checkpoints. You will get one additional package/parcel/envelope with location printed on it. First one to deliver that and get it signed and return to the EA and give your invoice to me wins. --------------- Now some other bits of info: Bring helmet and lights. This event is co-hosted by Fremont Bike Clinic and Walk N' Roll for HIV/AIDS For more info on Walk N' Roll see here www.walk-n-rollforaidslasvegas.com/
