Why would you not wear a helemt? Are you an idiot? C'mon Nick.... are we gonna get into this again? Let people make their own decisions despite how you feel about wearing a helmet. And yes it's probably is a good idea to wear one if your recklessly riding thru traffic... but I strongly believe that it's your freedom of choice to make that decision for yourself (especially if your paying your own insurance). Ride fast... have fun!

What the fuck? What the fuck does nathan recommend? Since when did nathan become the go to guy when it is found out that there will be an excess amount of cops looking for drunk drivers?
This is ridiculous. The race will go on, and everything will be ok.

i'm not looking for a suggestion to postpone the race. i'm looking for tips on how to avoid certain situations with the 5-0. he is experienced in alleycats, after all.

"One Dead Cop," by Leftover Crack.
Anyway, just ride. If this is an alley cat, then you should be able to manage traffic and avoid getting yourself caught in any situation whether it's a flat or whatever.
Be fast, be aware, be safe. Or try to be.

hmmmm. shit. what do you recommend, nathan? I'm not Nathan but my recommendation was to require a green beer to be chugged at each checkpoint. That was shot down though

and btw, i think it's bullshit that the official race got postponed. so what if racers couldn't make it because of the LA crash marathon. no one was FORCING them to go to LA, they went because they wanted to race that moar than this alley cat.
and so what if people didn't show because it was raining/dangerous. i totally get that some people didn't want to risk it because of the circumstances, but why should the people that did show up have to be directly effected because of the choices of the people THAT WEREN'T EVEN THERE.
the actual race should have continued as schedule. so what if there were only 5 of us that night. we could've had two separate races, it's not that hard to choose different checkpoints for a different race.
two main reasons why i'm crying about this whole thing:
1. i came to race because i was under the impression that it was gonna be a SEVERAL checkpoint/messenger style alleycat. not a sprint while wearing a bag race. had i known that, i wouldn't have even raced due to the fact that i was mildly sick and that i knew i would have no chance against austin, the fucking fastest track bike racer to ever exist ever.
2. i skipped out on a free trip to muthafucking disneyland because i thought that i had a legitimate shot at winning $70. again, had i known this was just gonna be a straight up sprint race, i wouldn't have even considered. have you EVER been to disneyland guys? THAT PLACE IS FUCKING NUTS. AND I COULD HAVE GONE FOR FREE. HEAR ME? FOR FREE. MUTHAFUCKING JACK SPARROW AND TOMMOROWLAND IN THIS BITCH.
and lulz to the people laughing at me for having an actual map rather than looking up where the one checkpoint is on my smart phone. you're being directly effected by cultural lag, and you're the reason why technology is eliminating every wholesome thing that has ever come to be.
and before anyone tries to joke about me raging or whatever: this ain't rage. it's just irritating how people that actually showed up had to suffer because of people that DIDN'T show up.
