Ok it's more like matte grey. But correct, I do need to be schooled on helmet etiquette

I'm building a front wheel thru Prowheelbuilder. Items ordered consist of hplusson F30, formula hub 32h, w/ Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes and 14g brass nipples. I want it to be radial laced. This is for my new aluminum track frame. I'm spending 197.84

Why brass nips? Are you looking for a light wheel or an aero wheel of a sweet fixay wheel?

n. fuck spending money on cx-rays. dt comps work just fine and you're not trying to shave .1sec off your 200 time. and brass nips coz fukka alu nip. they break, bond to spokes, and generally suck.

I figured the spokes were going too far.. Any suggestions on a black aero wheel for sub $200? I found Mavic Ellipse front wheel for $220.

That's what I'm thinking. This saves me nearly $60 in spokes. But the bladez...

just put a piece of electrical tape over each spoke. $3 roll of tape vs. $60 in spokes that you don't need.

probably will last longer than a thomson stem, regardless. they are notoriously known to crack.

Could be improper torquing. And even if, that's what you get for being so stiff. ST1FFL1FE. Anything can crack if you over tighten it, and that crack is in the exact spot where a stress fracture from over tightening would occur. True, cnc'ing and not forging does make a stiffer but weaker stem, but Thomson is the best looking because of their cnc'ed finish, IMHO. And because it's not forged doesn't mean it's a weak POS. Just more susceptible to stress fracture from over-torquing. So it'll probably last me long, as i know how to properly tighten a bolt.
