Hey guys my names Anthony and I'm up on the eastside. I want to buy a fixed gear but I dont know ANYthing about them. Is there a fixed gear shop in town that could get me started or something? I dont know what bike to get either, but i've heard not to get such an expensive complete because im gonna want to change parts and stuff. I've been looking on CL to buy a fixed but I want to make sure i get something my size. Any help would be appreciated! (:

if you go to a shop they can help you figure out what size you need. i wouldn't really trust a cl bike unless you had a knowledgeable person roll with you to check out what you're getting. they have some $300ish fixed bikes at Bike World which is on Eastern and Flamingo. some other people on here might prefer other stores but that would probably be your best bet to start with.

Okay it I'll check out bike world. Well I have 700 saved up, but I think max I wanna spend is 600. Also I have this bet with my dad that a fixed gear is worth it, but he says its the same as an old mountain bike I have in my garage. So were gonna see who goes the longest (him on that heavy bike) and if he loses he pays half of my bike. (If I lose he keeps the fixed gear bike) But I'll win right?
So because of the bet I don't care if I get a 600$ bike, because then I'll just end up paying 300. What should I do?

Nah haha. He rides the bike once in a while. But if he really wants to win it, he won't give up easy. I'm sure I'll win though (:

damn, i wish my dad would've helped me pay for my bike lol. i always figured road and fixed bikes were way faster than mt bikes. idk how much it depends on the rider but maybe your dad knows something i don't... let us know what you decide to get Anthony!

Flite 100 and Kilo TT are similar. Never rode a Flite, but I really liked my Kilo.

Everything besides bottom bracket you can see right away, the nicest thing listed is the campy bottom bracket, I just wonder why everything listed I'd pretty cheap other than the one thing you can't see

ahhh. well he seems like a nice guy. he gave me tools and everything. he even told me if i had any problems with it, to call him because he fixed it up and he stands behind his work. and to my luck, the headset is being funky and i told him, he said he'll buy the part and come fix it for me.. hes coming tommorow, so if i dont come back on... ever.. he killed me and stole the bike back.. it was nice knowing you guys.
