As per the rules, the amount of bikes a man has can be determined the simple equation, # of bikes = n+1, with n being the current amount of bikes possessed.
Own: 1985 Bianchi Stelvio. Currently out of commission due to a destroyed front rim. Everything else is rebuilt/repackaged/good to ride. Used to be my first sw8 fixie whip until I realized that it looked downright fucking stupid with red rims and that I was disgracing such a great road bike. Also kind of felt like a generic hipster fuck doing that to my dad's old road bike. Converted back to road bike out of respect and "growing up" in terms of bike taste so to say. KHS fixed gear. Needs brakes+road hoods. Pretty fun bike, glad it was so cheap. Sensible (fully, once I get brakes) and comfortable. I'm happy I bought it. Just wish it had a larger clearance so I could convert to SS cross bike. Argon 18 Plutonium. Crit bike, favesies, my only road bike. Mothership. Old Specialized rockhopper from the 90's that I'm in the process of rebuilding (+1 part of the equation) and repainted fluorescent pink. Single speed, rigid. Going to very fun shredding the gnar on it. Once it is finished, I need another bike to build up, as to coincide with the rules.
Used to own: Diamondback mountain bike that I converted to single speed. Pretty fun bike. Raleigh road bike. Spent most of first season racing on it. Had no complaints with it, just needed something better. Sold it to a good home.

I have a 1985 Cannondale Sr900 Everyday while riding to work I used to pass by some apartments and one day I spotted a little gem in someones balcony so when I finally had the balls to go up there I talked to the guy. He was pretty cool, he bought the bike in Washington and brought it with him...he doesn't ride bikes anymore he rides motorcycles so I asked him how much? he said 60 dollars so I bought it....it came with the whole Shimano 600 groupset except some campy parts here and there.... heres my bike with different components I was messing with /coolstorybro /srry4thepicsize

There's the other formula you could go by also, n-1, where n represents the number of bicycles your significant other would leave you for if you owned.
In 2008 I bought a red Redline Conquest Tour, but I think it had need in the shop for several years, so not sure what year it actually is. It was my first adult bike.
I rode that for a while then basically hung it on the wall. Then bike polo started and I started playing on it.
In January of 2011 I bought a Surly Creamroller for polo.
A few months after that I bought a blue 1980s Bertin which I converted into a fixed gear. This was for road riding as my Creamroller became exclusively for polo once I puts polo ratio on it.
Next came my Orange Masi.
I recently won an eighth inch butcher V2 at an auction. This will be sold to Dave once it comes in.
I have also ordered a baby blue fleet velo wide for polo. Should come in in the next month or so.
Other than the eighth inch I have never sold a bike.

i had a few bikes as a kid (magna mountain bikes, etc). but as an "adult" i've had:
1980s trek road bike (forget the model). got it when i moved to oregon. it came with clipless pedals and i did not know what they were for. my asshole no-nothing 18 year old self converted it to fix and ruined it.
IRO mark V. got this so i could get to work without taking the shitty bus. i wish it had eyelets, otherwise it is awesome.
van dessel rivet. got it supercheap on ebay. didn't expect to win it. shouldn't even be allowed to ride this bike, oh well! wish it had the belgian flag color scheme of the newest model.
going to get myself a mountain bike as a graduation present (to myself) in a few months!

well, bikes. ya know me, and probably my first bike. hawt then at some point I got a purple "big girl" bike. 16 in. wheels or whatever then another "big girl" "mountain" bike. also purple. 20 INCH! didn't have another bike of my own til I was like, 15. that was when Nathan built me my first fixed gear. I really miss that bike. it was stolen from school one day and never was found. here's me on that one: RIP SHOGUN, miss you then I borrowed one of Frankie's fixed gears for a bit. then I got this road bike for Christmas, what year. I don't remember. still have it and it's what I ride here then at some point in 2010 I think, I got this bike from Ian because I wanted another fixed gear. $100. it was a little big but I liked it. but eventually time crept up and I got hit by a car and the bike was totaled. still have the frame back at home then here is my first bike that I got in Milwaukee. my friend Keith built it for me. haven't ridden in a year or more. unfortunately. I'd like to fix it back up but for now it's out of commission. bummer
