Ya sounds like thrasher Thursday. If your bike is in good condition the only reason you will get dropped is cause you're slow.

so what nick's saying is, if you're bike is in good condition, and you're a strong rider. there is no possible way for anything to go wrong on a ride. nails and glass will part like the red sea, and your chain will WANT to stay railed due to it's love for you, so it will always try it's hardest to never get unrailed.
the world has changed indeed, mark. we must be doing something wrong.
all mark wants is a nice, scenic route being ridden at a more appropriate pace. ie, critical mass route but with a faster tempo.
i don't recall thrasher thursday ever being about riding the strip or around downtown, so i don't see why this is even being compared to Thrasher Thursday.
but i dunno, i'm prolly missing something.

You don't have to stand by me ghabe, I've got a track record for being wrong about things. Ever since my first post in the old forum.

I'm just sayin how often are you getting dropped to a flat? I haven't flatted in 7 months at least. And how fast is a fast pace 16-18mph? 19-22?

I think a fast consistent pace would be 22 no? I haven't had a spedometer on my bike for quite some time so my judgement feels skewed.
Either way I didn't mean to imply a fast pace, rather what I am essentially asking for is a ride similair to mass, except with a QUICK pace, probably 15-18 mph if i'd have to guess.
As for this whole Thrasher Thursday comparison, I don't really know a lot about Thrasher Thursday, or what it eventually turned into. I never attended the ride because I was never interested based on stories I had read from the following Fridays of people who attended the ride.

Depending on what route you take, the chances of getting a flat are slim as well as having your chain jump on you. I guess it's if you take care of your bike, your bike will take care of you. But I know what you mean Mark. Just something constant and a little faster.

15-18 is a moderate pace. What are you guys doing at mass? 9?

Critical mass is probably ~9-10mph, what it should be.

I thought we decided it wouldn't work because it's only one court and the whole net pole issue

Polo guys don't give no fuck. Ghabe, that would be awesome if you guys did a few rounds in the UC. The only thing you'd have to worry about is the HOA centenarian attack squad that roams the area.

We were at the park on Easter and the old lady came around 5:30 trying to shut the park down. She was putting chain locks through the bars on the doors. When we went up to her and told her she would be locking us in (lulz), she stopped and then came back less than an hour later and we all left. GTFO.

look chris, if you don't wanna play, i understand. i'm just trying to be spontaneous and play some polo on saturday because i'm free of hockey this weekend.
for some reason i've convinced myself that the courts aren't even that bad. the courts that we played on in hawaii were pretty bad, but they still manage to play on it. and also, if you're good at polo, you can play anywhere. i've been practicing in my garage for months.
and besides, we're not looking for a super competitive, regulation court.
i'm going today after class to check it out. if the holes aren't too serious, i can stucco or cement over them for a quick repair.
and i'll prolly stop by stephen and craig's to say hai. SO CLEAN UP YOUR ACTS, YOU TWO.

and craig, the old lady problem seems like it can be avoided if we use the park earlier in the day? i was planning on playing earlier in the afternoon anyway. none of us are used to playing in the sun, we need to get used to it.
