reasons to NOT get a leader: - horrible QC: last year hundreds of the 725s were sold with rear triangle, bottom bracket, and seattube problems
- they don't know dick about bicycle geometry: super long tts on bikes that are labeled as smaller
- they use shit aluminum
- shit aluminum causes the bb/hs to creak
- shit aluminum isn't actually light
- they must use blind monkeys to weld their bikes, then just bondo over the shitty welds
- they're actually not that cheap once you buy a fork and headset
- you can get something better for the same price.

Is there that bad of a rep on Leaders? I mainly like the style of the tubes as I would like to build a newer frame style bicycle at your level of riding, just stick to a steel frame. i mean, you just said yourself you just like the way it looks.

Main reason I posted for suggestions instead of ordering as soon as I saw it lol. Any similar suggestions you would recommend as in same style ?

suggestion: stay away from aluminum and get a modern steel frame.

Just noticed the frame i was looking at is a revised Version 2...
- 2010 Leader 725TR V2 - Designed by you the customer. Gathering all your suggestions and requests this is this the end result. Track geometry with high BB drop. Thicker tube sets with butting only where it needs to be to keep the bike extremely strong. MTB style welds to keep your bike in one pc. Stainless steel dropouts so you can make wheel removal easy. Longer and wider rear end for better tire clearance. No bottle cage holes. No brake guides. Yes rear brake bridge for caliper. Beautiful aero seat tube. Strong easy to use aero seat clamp system.
I'll be on the lookout for any modern steel frames that are in my price range, otherwise for the price of above stated frame i wouldnt mind building it up soley for experince as i am fairly new to cycling.

yeah, bondo'd welds and all. save your money till you have a bigger price range and you'll end up a lot happier.
or just buy a kilo tt from bikes direct and be done with it.

or just buy a kilo tt from bikes direct and be done with it. Reason I would like to build it from the bottom up is the level of personalization that is involved: certain desired colors, parts, and I can slowly buy parts for it instead of buying everything at once... Idk I'm weird like that lol What is your price range? I'd say under $200 for a frame and then steadily accumulate parts here and there. Planning on building a wheelset aswell: white rim/anodized red hubs and not sure on white or black spokes yet...

you def need to save up. $200 will not buy you more than a tin can worth of bike frame. there's a reason that frame is cheap.

there's a reason that frame is cheap. Same thought was floating in the back of my head... I'm not 100% settled on that Leader as of yet and as I stated before I'll look around for other options

he was being sarcastic. look, buy whatever frame you want to, just know there are problems associated with bikes that cheap. for example, the rear triangle's geometry is all skewed and fucked up. But in terms of cheap aluminum, etc etc, i'm sure you're not going to be putting big power into the bike or even using it competitively so it shouldn't really be a problem to you. i mean shit, getting a bike to ride for cheap is nice, but having a high quality bike is loads better, ya know?

No that was a joke..... Please don't do that.
Ride steel. Your not goin pro on this thing so there is no need to invest in good alu anyway. If you do that get a tk2. lol.

Hey, I have a Visp made frame but I don't know how I feel about it yet
My 2ยข is if you are being cheap, go ahead and purchase cheap but understand your options and know what you're getting for the money.
