Discuss those crazy concepts you always see. For commuter i take it. for racing everyday person? What are your thoughts on them?

There's a reason concept bikes never made it to be massed produced: They're completely unnecessary. Like the "everyday person" bike. It's too complicated and the ratio makes it so you can go ~10 mph. Some guy even made a version of it on youtube.

Couldnt that problem with they "everyday person" bike be fixed by putting in a larger gear type thing that turn the back wheel?

He's just hating. I can understand however- Maybe you can see what I think about "concept" bikes through my posts in this thread

I'm not hating, its just never going to work. Even if the ratio was changed, its still heavier, more complicated to work on, more expensive, grease would probably be all over the wheel (and pants). A regular sprocket and chain drivetrain is 99% efficient. Its still a really cool idea though.

I think that with some tweaking and some simplifying the "everyday person" bike could have a lot of potential and would catch on quickly.

I was just thinking about a concept where the chain stay goes through the tire, splitting them in two. Bah, someone beat me to it.
