ATTENTION. RACE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO JUNE 10. DISREGARD DATE ON FLYERI want to share my love of hill climbing with all of you... in race form. Whether you're fast, or slow, or don't even haz legs, you should come out to this race. Support your local racing, fixed, bicycle community and participate. As of now, I have emailed 20 sponsors, but only one has replied. There's a lot you can learn from guys who race that will be there. And shit, you might learn a thing or two you didn't know. There will be prize money to the top finishers. That amount depends on how many show up; more people, more prize money. Race schedule: • Race registrations begins at 7:00 pm on June 10th in Summerlin Park. • The race starts promptly at 8:00 pm. • Racers will return anywhere from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm. • Prizes will be given when all racers have returned. Rules and (strong) Suggestions: There are no rules regarding where you race. If you find it necessary to ride on sidewalks, gravel, rocks, etc. at a certain point in the race in order to come out on top, so be it. You’re here to win, aren’t you? RACE SAFELY, race smart. There is no need to curb, crash, or destroy your opponent(s). One thing a lot of you will learn (quite possibly the hard way) from this race is to work with your opponents, learn to take pulls, recover, stick a wheel, ride protected, etc. Don’t break off the front and think you’re going to win a solo breakaway, you little Sylvain Chavenel, you. Be keen and be aware of your surroundings. You’re going to be crossing some major streets and intersections, so be careful. HELMETS, LIGHTS, and BRAKES (you will be descending some extremely fast hills) are strongly suggested but not required to race. Basically, there are no rules, other than don’t ride like a fucking idiot. This is an alleycat, so be prepared to complete challenges and other stupid little game-esque things at each checkpoint. This is a fixed gear only event, except if you're a female, then you can ride whatever you want. Also, it would be reaaaaaaallllly nice if a few of you could help out with checkpoints.ATTENTION. RACE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO JUNE 10. DISREGARD DATE ON FLYER

general rules are the the organizer does not compete. is this gonna be more like dirty dozen points race style? or just an alleycat?

Gizmo, there is no way i will be able to throw this race and compete in it. I do advise a brake, as you will be descending some pretty decent descents. Nathan, this is an alleycat. There will be at least three checkpoints with challenges. Get excited, all of you. Get excited. Fuck LA, stay here and race.

Lords of Griffith is actually cooler. I'm just surprised no one thought of holding a race climbing race to Cog Hill before

Post by craig on Jun 9, 2011 14:32:48 GMT -8
the name of it is summerlin park, but It's on Washington and Cimarron. When you enter, turn left and look for the Gazebo closest to you. Race start/registration will be at that gazebo, as long as some quincenera or some shit isn't taking it up.
Race registration starts at 7, race starts at 8.
i hope to see a lot of you guys out there! don't be a baby and afraid to come hang out/ race/ support your community.
