I know quite a few people that race cross on campy. Most of the reason you don't see it is because sram and shimano can be had for a lot less money. Campy' is not really known to be a bang for your buck.

Meh. It's decent, other than the JA saddle angle.

I think you want the saddle angle to be JA so bad, that you're seeing shit. Not. That. Bad.

Post by craig on Feb 12, 2012 2:06:35 GMT -8
no, that angle is far to angled down to not be JA. clearly.

I'm gunna have to side with craig and agree that it is in fact a ja angle. You would slide right off.

Both those bikes and the one Jose posted all have saddle angle problems. If the saddle needs to be tilted down, it needs to be lowered.

We're talking about this bike, right? Considering that saddle is a Selle San Marco Regal, and that the bike is also viewed at 3/4 instead of straight on, AND that everything lines up with the stem.. I hereby declare with all of my stubborn art knowledge and bicycle knowledge combined, that saddle is indeed level. And no one can tell me differently. Edit: also, the angle is slight bird's eye. This shows more of the wider, convex rear of the saddle. Creating the slight illusion of a downward angle.

You've officially opened this up for investigation with possible criminal intent. Jose, do you have the source of this picture? Could you kindly surrender it to our investigation?

Some saddles just point down. It's all about that support Now for a San marco regal I believe that they're usually more level or upturned. But everyone's right I don't wanna argue

Assuming the wall behind the bike is level, I think this is a safe assumtion, it is easy to see that the top of this saddle is anthing but level. If you disagree with my logic then I challenge you to a duel!

Adding to Dr. Cianella's work, we can easily calculate the angle at which this saddle is indeed jackass. Third party calculations measure a ~12° angle. Every sensible, non-jackass saddle I've ever come into contact with is either level or a certain small angle above the horizontal axis with respect to level ground. Furthermore, that saddle is a SAN MARCO. We all know San Marco's are supposed to be angled slightly above horizontal. That is simply how they are designed, and designed well, they are. Therefore, the jackass angle is not 12°, but 12°+~2°-3°, leading this saddle to be jackass at a 14°-15° angle.

That wall is not an accurate point of reference. The ground is not level AND the bike is leaning with a different distance between each wheel and the wall. The camera angle is so skewed that no amount of Microsoft paint can prove anything. Until someone comes up with another camera angle, I shall not be swayed.
