IS EVERYONE STOKED ON BEING PUMPED?  ?!?!?!?! A few announcements: You don't necessarily need a bag, as the largest thing you will be transporting will be a manilla envelope. Up to you guys whether you want to use a bag or not. Also, if anyone is planning on coming out but not racing and you also take pictures, I would be so grateful if you took pictures of the race, especially the prizes at the end. A few of our sponsors want pictures of me handing the winners their prizes. Race registration is still set at 7pm and the race is due to begin around 8pm. Helmets and lights are recommended but not required as always. Ride safe and have a great time tonight! Thanks in advance to all of you that come out tonight! |

ok, austin and nathan finished first.
however, austin was missing one of the 4 papers in his manifest/package.
so they were dq'd for not having all their papers.
allowing jose and craig c. to take first place,
with me and cory at 2nd,
and jorge and joshua rushing close behind at 3rd.

I cant say for the end of the race but Nathan and Jose got to my checkpoint together about 5 minutes before anyone else.

All I'm going to say is that I clearly stated in the rules before the race that the first team to the top of the stairs with all four papers signed in their envelope wins. Austin was first back, but he didn't have all of his papers, so I had no choice but to disqualify him and Nathan. Some alleycats, like mine that include carrying packages, aren't just about who is fastest; they're about who is fastest and who can carry a burden and protect that burden until the end.
To Austin and Nathan, I think it was really a bunch of bullshit that you guys stormed off after I told you my decision. A really bad display of sportsmanship and friendship on your parts.

not really a bad display of sprotsmanship haha its not like we were yelling and screaming as we left. i just didnt want to wait for everyone to finish and awards to be handed out if i wasnt getting any. and its not like i made any comments toward anyone before or after the decision was made even though i cant agree with it. its not like we barely won. and i think we could have at least gotten something for it haha

What problem do you have with the decision? Think of how pissed off you would be if Jose's team came in first, had dropped one of their papers and I still gave them first place. I had to follow the rules I set before the race. If I didn't, the race would lose credibility and would look nothing more than a favor that I did for my friends to win all the swag. It was your package to take care of, and you didn't. You can only rest that blame on yourself.
And when I said "stormed off", I didn't mean you were throwing a fit, you just straight up left without even saying shit to me as if I were a bastard for making the decision. And right after I told you guys, I was still contemplating giving you guys some of the prize pot, but I can't really do that when you leave, can I?
Regardless, the decision I made was in no way easy and I still hate that I had to make it, but I had no choice. You and Nathan were clearly the fastest that night, but like I stated before, that's not all there is to an alleycat. Go to the next race, protect all of your shit, and win it.

jose and craig totally deserved to win. im not arguing that haha. and i really REALLY want to know where the paper went. my guess is underage alley because the one time we dropped the bundle of papers was literally right infront of everybody at the student union. and none of the papers came out. and i dont remember saying you were thinking about giving us some of the prizes. and i dont care too much.
