Craig, Merckx won a few WCs, so he can rightfully put them on any bike he wants. Same goes for any bike company that has a rider that won a WC on their product. Cervelo did it with Hushovd, Specialized did it with Boonen and they'll do it again because of Cav (even though he's gonna be on a Pinerello next year), and so on.
