Okay, I plan on ordering a wheel set and when it arrives I can loan you the front wheel for a while, as to Austin with the rear.

Also, it does have a braking surface, but it's not really smooth.

Looking to pick up a kit today! Nothing fancy or anything. Anyone recommend a place in town where they might have the lowest prices or specials?

Don't skimp on bibs and jersey. Mostly bibs. And FWIW, "kit" usually refers to a matching set from a team, club, out organization. If you're buying plain stuff, you just say "jersey and bibs."

Any recommendations as to where I can find some decent bibs & jerseys locally would be greatly appreciated

I don't know about local bike shops, but you can get some online.

that being said, sports chalet and rei have standard, cheap, but stiill effective bibs and jerseys for sale. those aren't really local bike shops, but you can buy them without having to go online. bike world has standard stuff too, but the prices are gonna be higher.

I live rei, but if you go there or sport chalet you might as well order online, primal wear.com

I'll support my local bike shop when I'm buying a bike or a wheelset, or some larger payment. When I'm buying something small, internet is the way to to usually.

In all fairness, the price differential is usually even more profound when it's a big ticket item like wheels, frame or complete bike. But we'll run the lbss out of business by buying online, then when you need that rim tape or whatever for that build you bought online just to complete it you're fucked. At the same time the lbss don't have the random parts you sometimes need. For example fg/ss parts, other than procyclery which is still limited. I don't know, I've been drinking, there's really no good solution

Thanks for the input guys. Checked out Mcghies and REI, pretty happy on what I decided to purchase in such little time I had.

WTB: A pair or single 700c X 23 tires.. not too used or flat spots would be very preferable
